Emergency foil blanket – These foil blankets are another essential item for your British Standard first aid kit. The use of a foil blanket helps retain the casualty’s body heat by reflecting their escaping heat back towards their body. These foil blankets are compact, lightweight and can reflect over 90% of a casualty’s body heat.

Foil blankets are also very useful for rescue and sports activities where there is a need to maintain body temperature. Many people ask us if a foil blanket can be re-used. In theory yes they can, however due to infection control measures we recommend once you have used your foil blanket you dispose of it.
