This 12-hour course is ideal for primary schools, before and after school clubs, early years practitioners, childminders, nursery staff, and teams who need a full paediatric first aid qualification. It uses blended learning: day one is online, followed by a practical day at our training centre. Alternatively, we can deliver the course onsite at your premises.

Accredited by Qualsafe Awards, this Ofqual-regulated qualification meets the HSE and Ofsted requirements for Paediatric First Aid in childcare and education settings. Consequently, it’s recognised as a professional and reliable certification for your team.

Paediatric First Aid covers specific emergency skills for babies and young children. In early years settings, all first aid training must follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Therefore, our training ensures compliance with these standards.

In Wales, the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for children up to the age of 12 years define the requirements. These are enforced by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW). So, if you are a registered childminder or work in day care, these regulations apply to you directly.

First Aid Compliance Standards

Approved childcare settings must always have at least one staff member with a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate. If you are the sole person responsible for children, such as a childminder, this qualification is essential.

Whether you’re a childcare professional, educator, or a regular caregiver, knowing how to respond during an emergency is crucial. This course develops both practical skills and the confidence needed to provide lifesaving support until paramedics arrive.

Our training is recognised by the National Childminding Association. It meets all requirements for the Childcare Approval Scheme and supports learners working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.

Please note: This course is intended for adults aged 16 and over. It is not suitable for children.
