Cardiac Arrests & CPR

Cardiac arrests can happen to anyone, at any time. Seconds matter! When one does happen it’s essential those around act quickly, in a calm and correct manner. Defibrillators (AEDs) are proven to save lives. They are an essential addition to any company, or communities health and safety / first aid provision. If you already have a defibrillator in your workplace, that’s great. As you may know, they are simple to use, and no prior training is necessary to use one. We do however recommend first aiders, and other employees conduct AED training so they are comfortable and familiar with the device and confident to act calmly in the event of an emergency.

This is a half day course, for over 16’s, covering how to safely and correctly use a Automated External Defibrillation (AED) unit. It will give delegates the ability and confidence to act promptly and effectively if someone in the workplace or community setting has a cardiac arrest. Delegates will also learn how to perform effective CPR, and manage the casualty until the emergency services arrive.

Community Defibrillator / CPR Training

We also offer free community training, watch our News and social media pages for further information on this.

The National AED Circuit

Do you or others know where your nearest AED is? Currently, the location and status of tens of thousands of AED’s (defibrillators) across the UK are not known by ambulance services, meaning that they may not be accessible in an emergency. Obviously the ambulance vehicles have AED’s onboard, but until that get’s to you it’s essential for the 999 operators to be able to know where your nearest AED is. They will tell you the location of the AED, and a pin access code to open the box.

If you own a AED that is not yet on the national AED circuit, watch this video to find out how to register it. If you do own one, it’s also essential to check if the items in the kit, pads and battery, etc. are in date.
