This is the Emergency First Aid at Work Course, usually abbreviated to EFAW. It's a 1 day course which will help you comply with the regulatory requirements, if your risk assessment indicates, that first aid training covering emergency procedures only are sufficient for your workforce. We are also offering the course with a blended learning option. This allows you to complete part of the course in your own time via our online learning system. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) recognise that Emergency First Aid at Work training courses gives a toolkit of practical skills and knowledge required by first aiders. This gives first aiders the ability to be able to deal with first aid emergencies. It also helps organisations contribute to the required standards set by the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulation.
We offer this 1 day, Emergency First Aid at Work course (EFAW) to both businesses and individuals. It's for anyone aged 16+ who wants to learn the skills necessary to assist in a first aid incident. Delegates will be able to provide a first aid response to a wide range of accidents in the workplace.
A full, 3 day, First Aid at Work course is available also. The full, 3 day, course covers all the topics covered on the 1 day course. Emergency First Aid at Work Course - Information
This is the industry standard, Emergency First Aid at Work Course. It's a 1 day, face to face course.
This is the Emergency First Aid at Work course you will need to book if your workplace, environment, event, etc. is classified as low risk, with less than 25 people, for example a small office. It will give delegates (your nominated first aider) the confidence and ability to deal with emergency first aid situations.
If you are booking this course for a large number of delegates, then it may be more cost effective for us to come to your site. We also recommend you share your first aid risk assessment with us. This enables us to add a bespoke element to the standard course with other potential emergencies that you are likely to encounter. First Aid Skills
On completion of this Emergency at First Aid at Work course, delegates will be able to provide a confident first aid response in the below emergency situations. They will learn basic life saving skills, be able to asses and monitor the casualty and know where to get help from. In addition they will learn and understand workplace health and safety regulations.

Emergency First Aid At Work Course Timetable & Preparation
You will receive a personal full training pack which includes an up to date first aid text book to keep. You will also be given a resuscitation face shield, Covid precautionary equipment and first aid training equipment which will be provided for use during the course.
This Emergency First Aid at Work course is usually available 3 times a month. It is a 1 day course typically delivered 08:30 or 09:00 start until 16:00 or 16:30 respectively. We operate from venues around North Wales and the North West. If you wish us to conduct the course on your own premises, flexibility can be offered around the clock on a 24/7 basis. We could also conduct the course at weekends for you.
Not all of the venues we use provide food, so we recommend you bring your own lunch unless advised otherwise. We will send joining information when you book the course, and information on local amenities.
All we ask is that you arrive ready to learn. Ideally, also present to us before the course your companies first aid assessment, if applicable.
This Emergency First Aid at Work course is delivered in a classroom setting. It is a hands on / practical course so you must be physically able to participate. A good level of English is required. You will learn the skills and gain the confidence over your day to be able to deal with a wide range of situations. If your delegates all have Welsh as their first language, we can also offer the course in Welsh.
To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate and we limit group size to 12 people.
Your Due Diligence
For your piece of mind, this course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. All our trainers hold current and relevant training qualifications. Our courses meet the HSE criteria of what is expected of a first aid training company.
The trainers at the Hive Collaborative are all clinically qualified and experienced in urgent medical care; e.g. medical doctors, paramedics and A&E nurses. This is not a HSE stipulation for first aiders, but we believe you will benefit greatly from their skills and experience. Emergency First Aid At Work Course Assessment
Delegates must attend the full day to be eligible for assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course in addition to formal multiple-choice assessments. On successful completion delegates will receive a Emergency First Aid at Work course certificate which is valid for 3 years.
