This Qualsafe Awards regulated First Aid at Work Requalification course is delivered as a 2 day blended learning course. The equivalent to 1 day will be undertaken by the candidate completing an online module while the other 1 day will be in a classroom setting, face-to-face. The classroom part is a hands on / practical course so you must be physically able to participate. You must already hold a valid First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Requalification certificate to be allowed onto this course. First Aid at Work Requalification Course
We offer this 2 day, First Aid at Work requalification course to both businesses and individuals. It's for anyone aged 16+ who wants to requalify once their current First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Requalification certificate is approaching its expiry date. Successful completion of the course gives the participant another 3 years as a qualified first aider. If your current certificate has expired, the full 3 day, First Aid at Work course will need to be completed again.
This is the course to requalify as a First Aid at Work 'First Aider' in high risk environments. We also do a shorter, 1 day, Emergency First Aid at Work course (EFAW) but this is only suitable for low risk workplaces. Please click here to be redirected to this page.

First Aid at Work Requalification Course - Information
This is the First Aid at Work Requalification Course. It's a 2 day course. You must already hold a valid First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Requalification certificate to be allowed onto this course. As a reminder, this course will allow you to practice as a first aider in a workplace, environment, event, etc. which is classified as high risk, for example; hot work, manufacturing, construction sites, or sites with mobile plant. Schools, hotels and care homes can also fall into the high risk category depending on the of attendees / employees / residents it has. However, this is not the full First Aid at Work course, to complete it, you must already have a valid First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Requalification certificate. Your designated first aiders will maintain the skills needed to deal with specific illnesses and injuries in your workplace. These injuries and illnesses may have been highlighted in your first aid needs assessment. First Aid Skills On completion of this First Aid at Work Requalification course, delegates will remind themselves and increase their confidence in first aid responses to the below emergency situations. Where the Casualty is / has:
- Unresponsive and breathing / unresponsive and not breathing
- Suffering from shock
- Minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, small splinters)
- Chest Injuries
- Eye Injuries
- An injury to a bone, muscle or joint
- Head and Spinal injuries.
Delegates will be able to manage casualties who may be having a heart, angina or asthma attack, a stroke, seizure, severe allergic reaction or a diabetic incident. They will also be able to asses and monitor the casualty, know where to get help from and be confident in accident reporting and recording including RIDDOR.
First Aid At Work Requalification Course Timetable & Preparation
You will receive a personal a full training pack which includes an up to date first aid text book to keep. You will also be given a resuscitation face shield, Covid precautionary equipment, stationery and first aid training equipment for use during the course. This First Aid at Work requalification course is a 2 day course usually available once a month as blended learning. The equivalent to 1 day will be spent by the participant completing an online module and 1 day spent by the participant attending a face-to-face course (open courses typically starting at 08:30 or 09:00 until 15:30 or 16:00 respectively). We operate from venues around North Wales and the North West. If you wish us to conduct the course on your own premises, flexibility can be offered around the clock on a 24/7 basis. Not all of the venues we use provide food, so we recommend you bring your own lunch unless advised otherwise. We will send joining information when you book the course, and information on local amenities. All we ask is that you arrive ready to learn. We will also need to see your current first aid certificate beforehand.
This First Aid at Work requalification course is delivered as a 2 day blended learning course. The equivalent to 1 day will be undertaken by the candidate completing an online module while the other 1 day will be in a classroom setting, face-to-face. The classroom part is a hands on / practical course so you must be physically able to participate. You will learn the skills and gain the confidence over the day to be able to deal with a wide range of situations. A good level of English is required. If your delegates all have Welsh as their first language, we can also offer the course in Welsh. To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate and we limit group size to 12 people.
Your Due Diligence
For your piece of mind, this course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. All our trainers hold current and relevant training qualifications. Our courses meet the HSE criteria of what is expected of a first aid training company. The trainers at the Hive Collaborative are all clinically qualified and experienced in urgent medical care; e.g. medical doctors, paramedics and A&E nurses. This is not a HSE stipulation for First Aiders, but we believe you will get benefit their skills and experience. First Aid At Work Course Assessment
Delegates must have completed the online learning and attended the full face-to-face session to be eligible for assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course and formal multiple-choice assessments. On successful completion delegates will receive a First Aid at Work Requalification course certificate which is valid for 3 years.
