Did you know that 1 in 4 people in the UK are likely to experience a mental health issue each year? Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet whilst we know how to take care of physical health, many people do not know how to support relatives, friends and even colleagues who are experiencing poor mental health.
By developing a greater understanding of common mental health issues, as well as how best to support and guide someone experiencing poor mental health. Mental Health First Aiders play a vital role in reducing the stigma associated with mental health in the UK.
This QA Level 2 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions in the workplace and how best to offer support and guidance to colleagues.
Throughout this 1-day course, learners will develop an understanding on the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and the role that everyone plays in recognising mental health issues at work. Topics covered include: understanding mental health and its importance, promoting positive mental health in the workplace, common mental health conditions, mental health first aid at work action plans.

Certification
Successful learners will receive a personalised QA Level 2 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF) e-certificate. Printed certificates are available for an additional cost of £5 (includes postage).

Excellent delivery of a 3 day first aid course with all the information you need. Plenty of practical to test your skills and knowledge, giving confidence to perform first aid in the workplace, at home or in public.

I have just completed a first aid at work course here and could not of been any happier. All the staff were very welcoming & helpful, it was a great office space with amenities. I have done many first aid courses in the past with various providers & I can honestly say this is the best one I have attended. I loved that it was a smaller group, therefore we could have discussions/ask questions, and it made the practical side much easier than previous courses as Ian (the instructor) could watch what we were doing on a more 1-1 basis and guide us if we went wrong. Also, it was great that Ian was a working paramedic, therefore he had so many personal scenarios that he could share with the group relating to the topic we were covering, it was really nice to have someone who does this on a day-to-day basis, rather than previous providers who have taught for a long time, rather than working on the job.Overall I would 100% recommend and I will be making sure all our operatives at work use The Hive 🙂 Many Thanks.
I loved doing my first aid course here, the staff is so lovely and I love the relaxed atmosphere, the building is well organised and extremely tidy and clean. The trainer Emma helped me and my colleague throughout the entire course, i will definitely be going here for my training in the future. 🤍
Attended the first aid refresher course on Wednesday, Emma the trainer was brilliant, very knowledgeable, made the course interesting, explained things well.
What a positive experience, had a course with work and was very nervous and not great with first aid items. Ian was fantastic, so helpful and knowledge. He made it fun and I can now hopefully save a life.
Brilliant course, attended with my 6m old and it was really baby friendly. Relaxed but very informative. Emma was so knowledgeable and it was really good to get hands on practice with mannequins. Would definitely recommend!!
The course was very interesting, enjoyable and helpful. We covered a lot of different aspects with combination of role play and videos. Our trainer Binny has big experience and excellent professional skills and made us feel ease and guided through the course.
I did Paediatric first aid course today and also did the top up online course. The online course was easy to navigate and could do it at my own pace which worked around my working shifts.Then I did the face to face course today. Ian Bennington was friendly down to earth and professional, he put us at ease straight away. He explained everything clearly and made sure we understood what to do.Highly recommended
Throughout the years I have taken various first aid courses, however as a first time mum I decided to take the paediatric first aid course so I could learn first aid techniques specifically for babies and children. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the course but it far exceeded any expectations I had. The course was well organized and the instructor Dr Emma was brilliant. This is the first time I’ve had a medical professional teach me a first aid course and I can honestly said it made such a difference in how the course was taught. Dr Emma broke the first aid course down into simple and easy techniques to remember and I felt a lot more prepared and confident by the end of the class. Highly recommend this class!

It was a pleasure to spend a Saturday having fun whilst also learning how to deal with accident/medical emergencies that can happen within the setting I work.Emma and Imogen kept a good pace and had fun.I now feel comfortable and confident to deal with anything that could occur within my setting and look forward to seeing them again to refresh and retrain
