Paediatric First Aid Training Flintshire – This is the industry standard, Paediatric First Aid Course. It’s a 2 day blended course split into the equivalent to 1 day being completed by the candidate online and 1 day face-to-face in a classroom setting.

This is the Paediatric First Aid course you will need to book if your workplace, environment, event, etc. is involved with the care of children and babies.

If you are booking this course for a large number of delegates, then it may be more cost effective for us to come to your site. We also recommend you share your first aid risk assessment with us if it highlights high risk, e.g. for children or babies with disabilities or medical conditions. This enables us to add a bespoke element to the standard course with other potential emergencies that you are likely to encounter. Bear in mind, all our trainers are clinically qualified professionals; Doctors, Paramedics and A&E Nurses.

On completion of this Paediatric First Aid course, delegates will be able to provide a confident first aid response in the below emergency situations. They will learn basic life saving skills be able to asses and monitor the casualty and know where to get help from. In addition they will learn and understand workplace health and safety regulations.

Emergency Situations (children & babies only):

Unresponsive and breathing.
Unresponsive and not breathing / use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Bleeding & choking
Burns and scalds
Foreign objects in ears, eyes and nose.
Heat exhaustion / hypothermia.
Fever and sickness.

We also cover what to do if a child or baby is having a medical emergency including:

Head injury
Seizures
Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock)
Asthma attack.
Meningitis
Diabetic incident
Injury to a muscle, bone or joint, including spinal.
Swallowed something harmful.
